Current opportunities
- Basic electronic component recognition.
- Ability to work from computer, drawings or parts lists.
- Ability to read colour codes and component identity markings desirable.
- Use of basic hand tools – screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, soldering iron.
- Post flow solder inspection and rectification of soldering defects.
- Good hand soldering skills.
- Light mechanical assembly.
- Some PCB testing using automated test jigs.
- Must be flexible and willing to carry out different tasks as required.
- A positive attitude and good team player.
- IPC 610 accreditation would be an advantage but not a pre requisite as onsite training is available.

Key attributes and duties
- Proven ability in production engineering with an understanding of Electronics subcontract manufacture.
- Comfortable viewing gerbers and schematic drawings on various software packages.
- Good communication skills and the ability to convey ideas clearly to customers and staff.
- Trouble shooting & solving technical issues on the Production floor.
- Hands on approach to problem solving.
- Ability to produce tooling and jigs as required for the shop floor.
- Familiarity with and the ability to use manual lathes and mills an advantage.
- Some Machine Maintenance and repair.
- Understanding the requirements of current quality standards and build practices.
- Good Windows based PC skills.
- Good 2D and 3D cad skills an advantage but not essential.
- Be able to work on own initiative, under pressure and flexible in the work undertaken.

We are currently looking for a Test engineer to join our fast-growing team.
Functions
- Proven background in fault finding to component level on a wide range of electronic products including analogue and digital circuitry.
- Proven background in fault finding to component level on a wide range of electronic products including analogue and digital circuitry.
- Ability to follow schematic and circuit drawings.
- Ability to fabricate test jigs to test in line with a specification.
- Ability to test assembled PCB’s to functional test specifications.
- Write and update test specifications and procedures if required.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Experience with ICT desirable.
- Experience with XJTAG desirable.
- Experience with Labview advantageous.
- Understanding requirements of current quality standards and build practices. IPC, 5S etc.
- Good soldering and rework skills.
- Good Windows based PC skills.
Qualities
- Focused, polite and determined.
- Ability to converse effectively in a concise technical manner with customers.
- Be able to work on own initiative, under pressure and flexible in the work undertaken.
Qualifications
Ideally qualified to HNC level, or with an Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship background
